ONE ON ONE
One desperate winter, I left my desk job with one dream of being a wedding photographer and zero weddings booked thinking that we might have to dip into our savings to survive. We never did.
My first ever engagement session was published on Style Me Pretty and my third ever wedding was published in The Knot magazine. I spent the first year of my business focused on perfecting my craft, developing my brand and business model and learned a lot of hard lessons about waiting for the right clients for me. I was selected as a preferred vendor for Style Me Pretty, New York Weddings Magazine and Green Wedding Shoes. My second year I grossed well over six figures. and netted a higher salary than I ever had in my life - all while doing something I love.
But as great as all that sounds, it wasn't always easy. I made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot of hard lessons like setting boundaries, facing my fears, being myself, and most of all the importance of valuing myself and my own work.
